The infectious gameplay of Jewel Master: Cradle Of Rome needs little explanation; You start with a grid with a number of tiles, each with a different symbol. By sliding tiles horizontally or vertically, it is possible to create rows of 3, 4 or 5 of the same symbols. These rows then disappear and new tiles fall through the grid at the top of the screen. The aim is to destroy all special blue tiles. In addition, you have access to some spectacular special abilities, such as "Lightning", which destroys twenty random tiles and "The Bomb", which destroys a square of no less than nine tiles. You can also unlock an hourglass with which you can stop time for a while.

In Jewel Master: Cradle Of Rome, you are the head of the Roman Empire in ancient Rome. You start with a small village and try to build a large empire through clever puzzles and strategic insight. The tiles from the puzzle game represent the different resources you need to build your empire, such as gold, food, and wood. Between the different levels with puzzles you get the opportunity to place all kinds of buildings with these resources; from small farms and settlements to more important structures, such as the Colosseum and the Pantheon.
