While he's soaking, Ratchet's coming through a report on his home planet, Veldin. Veldin is attacked by an army of aliens called the Tyhrranoids. The prime suspect is the secret villain Dr. Nefarious. Ratchet and Clank go to Veldin. That's where Ratchet is seen for the new sergeant of the Galactic Rangers. Later, Ratchet is summoned by the Intergalactic President. The President is telling us about a man Nefarious has ever defeated... Captain Qwark!
