The Sega Saturn is a 32-bit fifth-generation home video game console released by Sega in 1995. It was the first console of the sixth-generation era, ahead of its competitors, the Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo 64. The Saturn was known for its high-end 2D games and its arcade-style 3D games, as well as its impressive library of role-playing games.
