Magic: The Gathering (often referred to as simply Magic or MTG) is a collectible card game created by Richard Garfield and published by Wizards of the Coast. The game was released in 1993 and has since become the most popular and most played trading card game in the world. Magic: The Gathering is a game of strategy where players battle each other with customized decks of cards. Each card in a deck represents a creature, spell, artifact, or other game element that can be used to defeat an opponent. The game is played with two or more players taking turns to cast spells, activate abilities, and move creatures around the battlefield. Players can build their own decks of cards or purchase pre-made decks. The cards come in five distinct colors – white, blue, black, red, and green – that each have their own unique play style and strategies. Each color has its own strengths and weaknesses, making it important for players to understand how to combine the colors in order to create a powerful deck. In addition to the five colors, Magic also has a variety of special cards that can be used to enhance a deck's power. These cards are called Planeswalkers, and they represent powerful beings from the Magic universe who can provide powerful abilities to a deck. Magic: The Gathering has been popular for over 25 years and continues to be a popular game for both casual and competitive players. With an ever-expanding library of cards, new gameplay elements, and a vibrant tournament scene, Magic is sure to remain a favorite for many years to come.
