Magic: The Gathering (often referred to as simply Magic or MTG) is a collectible card game created by Richard Garfield and published by Wizards of the Coast. The game was released in 1993 and has since become the most popular and most played trading card game in the world. Magic: The Gathering is a game of strategy where players battle each other with customized decks of cards. Each card in a deck represents a creature, spell, artifact, or other game element that can be used to defeat an opponent. These cards are called Planeswalkers, and they represent powerful beings from the Magic universe who can provide powerful abilities to a deck. Magic: The Gathering has been popular for over 25 years and continues to be a popular game for both casual and competitive players.
